Breana, I never cease to be amazed with the homeschool questions and concerns. Good for you for proving them wrong! Happy Thanksgiving! 🙂

I’m pretty sure that coworker couldn’t name as many countries as my kindergartner identified! I don’t think I’d go along with that in most circumstances. This person has no kids and I think they were just curious. I was homeschooled and I remember some family members trying to educate me on Henry David Theroux at age eight because they were convinced we were missing out on this essential aspect of…elementary school?? It wasn’t until I earned a masters degree that this person admitted they thought I’d be an academic failure and were constantly trying to “test” me. Why, really? I hadn’t noticed!

I usually say there are lots of resources that teach me to teach them. I just put my kids back in catholic school and I’m dreading it. My 7yr old is on the autistic spectrum and it’s hard to get any support. My 11 yr old has anxiety. I think they have missed more days than going. Waiting for christmas break and hopefully getting more support. Financially hard for me

Your responses were so well thought out and meant to encourage discussion. This is my first year homeschooling and I started with a 7th grader and a 10th grader. I also have an older son who graduated from public school. Thankfully my family is very supportive of our choice but I’m tucking this away for the comments we might get out and about during “school” hours.
